He also arranged songs for several singers who have performed at the Festival of Sanremo in Italy as well as having a numerous recordings as a sideman and leder.
His music is eclectic with mediterranean and contemporary sounds. During the years, Marco lo Russo has received great critic approvals from: Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Leo Brouwer, as well as from actors and directors like Piera Degli Esposti, Pupi Avati, Giorgio Albertazzi and many others.
Marco Lo Russo has been working for several years with Nicola Piovani who is an Oscar winner for the soundtrack of the film Life is Beautiful by Roberto Benigni as long as many other artists of international renown such as Leo Brouwer in Cuba, Chiara Civello, Dulce Pontes, In-Grid and many other.
Marco Lo Russo has performed as a soloist in World Vision (Bresso, Milan Sept. 2012) for the Pope Benedict XVI.
He also has performed in one of the most prestigious international theaters, festivals, international Jazz Club such as BluNote (Milan), and different international cultural events worldwide. Among the most significant are: soloist at the Rome National Opera Theatre, Radio Rai, Radio Vaticana, and many other international radio station. TV: Rai2, Italia Rai, Rai International, Sky TV, La Bibbia Giorno e notte – Rai EDU in World Vision, and Al Centro della vita – Rai1 at the XXV National Eucharistic Congress and many other international TV channels in USA, Cuba, France, Kosovo, Switzerland and many others.
Marco Lo Russo has been also composer, musician and artistic director for music programs for broadcast worldwide such as I Promessi sposi d’Italia on RAI History and RAI International channels, than 200 TV episodes in the program 42.12 Mediterraneo d’Europa for TVSAT 2000 as for numerous cultural events.
In result of his international career, Marco Lo Russo has received numerous awards and appreciations. To mention just a few of them: the Special Prize Award cultures Albatros 2012, Award IMAGE 2011 Latina city, Orpheus Award recording 2011, 2010, 2009, Prize OPERA IMAIE 2009, Award Sonora 2007 and Prize ETI 2005.
Currently, Marco Lo Russo also dedicates himself to teaching. He is a tutor of post graduated courses in the State Conservatory "Giuseppe Nicolini" in Piacenza, Italy and the State Conservatory “Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina” in Cagliari, Italy as he leads private classes as well.
