Tanya Kirova is an opera singer with an accomplished and gifted lyric-dramatic soprano voice. She is skilled in interpreting lyrical, as well as dramatical repertoire which requires an exceptional voice and the emotional power for a powerful re-creation of a piece. This unique and original characteristic makes Tanya a sought after performer particularly in the Italian repertoire from the 19th century.
Tania was born in Bulgaria in 22.12.1982 and graduated from the NationalMusicalAcademy “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia in 2006 where she studied classical singing under associate Professor Ivanka Ninova. Her official debut was in 2005 in the performance of Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute” where she performed the role of First Lady. In 2006 she performed the role of Rozalinda in Strauss’s “Die Fledermous” as well as the role of Arminda from Mozart’s ‘La Fina Giardiniera’. Based on her success in these performances while still studying at the NationalMusicAcademy, Tanya won a coveted and highly competitive scholarship to continue her post graduation education at the prestigious SantaCeciliaAcademy in Rome, Italy. This scholarship was awarded to those with not only accomplished voice and technique skills but also based on the judges’ perception of overall musical abilities and artistic potential. Tanya continued to develop and flourish whilst at the Academy under the tutelage of Antonio Boyer and Mirella Paruto. During this time, she also participated with the Academy in production tours throughout Italy. During her many concerts in Italy, she was well received by the Italian critics and press who once defined her as “a miracle of bel canto singing” and compared her flatteringly to soloists who had performed at La Scala in Milan.
During her time in Bulgaria, Tanya performed as a soloist with the philharmonic orchestras in various musical centers such as Bourgas, Pleven, Vratsa, Vidin and Razgrad. This enabled her to work with many talented conductors such as Boris Hinchev, Valeri Vachev, Jordan Dafov, Krasen Ivanov, Jorg Birghams, Roberto Giuffre, and Massimo Lambertini to mention but a few.
More recently, Tanya has performed arias from various French, Italian and Russian composers for the “Ensemble for Electro Acoustic Music’ in Sofia while continuing to tour when asked in Italy. She was also asked to perform several solo concerts in 2011 in Israel which were well received by the Israeli music critics. Presently she is participating in concerts and performing arias in Antalya, Turkey and in Bulgaria.
