dombrova piano duogenre country origin biography Dombrova Piano Duo was created by two young, ambitious, loving music pianists from Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. Łukasz Szubski and Krzysztof Włodarczyk have been friends since they were 6. Both began their musical education at School of Music, where they met attending piano lessons with the same teacher - Małgorzata Adamczyk. The tutor awakened in them a passion for the instrument and classical music. In 2010 Łukasz and Krzysztof started studies at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. During the next five years they used every opportunity to work with eminent pianists and pedagogues of Polish classical music scene. Łukasz Szubski collaborated with Professor Józef Stompel, PhD Magdalena Lisak, PhD Piotr Sałajczyk. Krzysztof Włodarczyk collaborated with Professor Zbigniew Raubo as well PhD Piotr Banasik. Both musicians have performed numerous concerts in youth and community centres and during special events such as the sSAFka Student Art Festival in Katowice, concert in Royal Albert Hall in London, concert in the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, concert in the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk and a concerts at the Palace of Culture in Dąbrowa Górnicza.
the duo recently has won the: FIRST PRIZE on the International Music Competition 'London' Grand Prize Virtuoso 2016 THIRD PRIZE on the 7th Concorso Internazionale Giovani Musicisti Premio "Antonio Salieri" HONORABLE MENTION with good results on the 1. Rising Stars Grand Prix 2016 International Music Competition Berlin" President of Dąbrowa Górnicza Award for culture and artistic creativity Winner of the category professional on the 10th International Music Competition and Festival „Svirel” Currently Łukasz and Krzysztof work at the School of Music in Dąbrowa Górnicza as piano teachers and accompanists. It is the same school where they started their musical education almost 20 years ago. Since 2011 they both have been working as pianists for the Silesian Philharmonic performing a wide repertoire of classical and popular music. In addition, each pianist has performed individually or with various ensembles at numerous events. In 2015, both pianists began postgraduate studies in chamber music under supervision of Professor Urszula Stańczyk at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. They finished postgraduate studies in 2017 with excellent rating. repertoire
